When we ask clients what their biggest fear or what they lose sleep over the most is simply “fear of the unknown”. The legal process is time consuming and not exactly speedy. The “real world” timing does not exist here any longer. Things move slow in the legal process, and most clients are used to a fast paced life where they can control most situations and have required quick responses or results. Now they are not in control and that along with waiting to find out their status, trial dates, trial prep, plea dates, and especialy sentencing and its outcome can be daunting. None of that includes the unknowns of being incarcerated. We want to alleviate those unknowns, put it in a realstic perspective and use proper preparation as a tool to take the place of that angst and start filling in those “unknowns” with real expectations, real outcomes and realistic goals. Focusiing on those things are crucial and put the client in a positive mindset. We give them the tools to be successful and understand the new environment they are entering, the rules of engagement in all aspects and how to get through this chapter bettter than they entered it.
